I felt privileged to be a docent at the National Gallery Singapore, which opened in November 2015. The program is for volunteer guides who serve as the Gallery’s “ambassadors” to welcome visitors.
I am passionate about art, history and culture and loved guiding many exhibitions from South East Asia. I also completed the guiding program at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia in 1998.
Singapore’s National Collection is the world’s leading collection of modern and contemporary art from Southeast Asia, and includes over 10,000 works. The Gallery aims to be the centre for research, discussion and publications on the modern art of the region, to provide wide access and fresh understanding of a unique visual heritage.
